Do you take advantage of the benefits your job offers?

While the benefits companies offer are important, what stands out more is how they communicate them to their employees.

Although 72% of workers in Mexico reported having access to employee benefits through their jobs, a recent study found that the percentage of employees who effectively utilize these benefits is not high. This is largely due to how employers communicate this information.

In this regard, the lack of communication about available benefits is one of the main factors affecting the use of these programs, emphasizing that companies need to do more than just offer benefits.

These benefits should be shared with teams so they are aware and can take advantage of them. Only 47% of employees know about the benefits their company offers, and of those, only 33% receive information regularly.

The most important thing is not just to provide access to benefits, but also to ensure they truly impact employees' lives, as when employees see that their well-being is a priority, their commitment to the organization increases significantly.

Actions to Promote the Use of Employee Benefits

Companies investing in the well-being of their employees not only retain talent but also create a more productive and cohesive work environment. To achieve this, employers need to listen to their teams and adapt to their needs.

It’s not just about what is offered to employees, but how it is communicated. Therefore, its recommended establishing effective channels to share information regularly about benefits, aligning them with the team’s needs. This means personalizing the offerings to ensure they are relevant and useful for employees.

In Mexico, Monterrey stands out as the city with the best perception of employee benefits, as workers not only receive some form of emotional salary but also utilize it effectively. This is due to the encouragement of active participation in wellness programs, which keeps employees motivated.

In light of this, companies aiming to lead in an increasingly competitive environment must place the well-being of their teams at the center of their strategy. Improving access to information about benefits and promoting their use is an urgent task that will benefit the organization as a whole.
